You may have seen the Elephant tutorial before.
Yep, this is Amapi 6.1 running and this is me in front of a giant screen called Fakespace display. It's usually used for virtual reality systems, with data capture and gloves, exotic input devices and stereoscopic goggles. It's absolutely fantastic when you run AMIRA on it. But on this day my colleagues at TGS were done doing their Open-Inventor based testing and scientific visualizations. So I just had to run a few programs on it to see how it feels to have a larger than life elephant in the room.
When I turned the elephant to see it's back I thought I'm just glad they haven't pushed this virtual reality thing to the point of virtual flatula - yet.
On the other hand, running some games of UnrealTournament 2003 on this puppy really rocks, and loading Vicky 3 into Carrara is a whole new experience on this screen too! Now if only HALO could be output to standard VGA connectors, I wouldn't have to return home for the weekends hehe :-)
